What is Penates?

Penates is a small self-hosted server that runs on your Mac or Linux box. It shows every running coding-CLI session in one dashboard and lets you drop into the terminal from any browser: your Mac, iPad, or phone, on your network or over the internet. No cloud relay: your machine, your sessions.

You start sessions with Claude Code (Anthropic), Codex (OpenAI), Antigravity (Google agy), or opencode from a CLI picker, each with tiered approval/sandbox variants. Claude Code is the most deeply integrated (hook-based notifications, usage tracking, image paste); the others run as full terminal sessions with their own login.

Manage sessions

Start, attach, rename, and stop tmux-backed CLI sessions from a live dashboard with activity, context-token, and 5h-limit status.

Steer from anywhere

Installable PWA, optional Cloudflare Tunnel or Tailscale for secure remote access. Full terminal with colors, even from your phone.

A board for ideas

A Kanban board turns ideas into shipped work: brainstorm, implement (in an isolated git worktree), review, and merge, partly autonomously.

See everything

Usage dashboard, file browser, repo panel (changes · history · branches), browser preview, voice input, and more.

Coming soon: a native iOS companion app for iPhone and iPad is in the works. It is not on TestFlight or the App Store yet, so for now install the PWA to your home screen for a native feel.
